Harry Collas, director and veterinary surgeon at Scope Farm Vets

  • BVMedSci (Hons) BVM BVS CertAVP MRCVS

    After graduating from Nottingham University in 2014 Harry spent 2 years working with block calving dairy herds in New Zealand, where he undertook his DairyNZ InCalf Advisor training. Since returning to the UK he’s gained the post graduate certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice, and honed an interest in bovine mastitis and lameness. Harry is a registered Mastitis Control Plan deliverer, and is a Mobility Mentor with the AHDB Health Feet Program.

Lora Fryars, director and veterinary surgeon at Scope Farm Vets

  • BVSc MSc MRCVS

    Lora grew up on a mixed dairy, beef and pig enterprise before attending Vet School at the University of Liverpool. She returned home in 2016 and shortly afterwards she won the Cream Awards ‘Young Dairy Vet of the Year,’ for her work establishing the Ignite Farming Forum. Lora runs our Dairy Transition Tracker service, and is one of only a few vets around with a master’s degree in Ruminant Nutrition.

Tom Lyons, director and veterinary surgeon at Scope Farm Vets

  • VetMB MA DBR MRCVS

    Tom qualified from Cambridge Vet School in 2007. He holds a diploma in Bovine Reproduction, and as such Tom has a particular expertise in cattle fertility, which he uses to help farms optimise their breeding protocols and fertility performance. He enjoys teaching and runs our artificial insemination course.

    Tom is also accredited to deliver the Mastitis Control Plan.

Liv Cumia-Cartmell, veterinary surgeon at Scope Farm Vets

    Having worked in Garstang since graduating from the University of Liverpool in 2012, Liv has established herself as a reliable pair of hands and values the longstanding relationships she has built with farmers over this time. Liv is accredited to deliver the nationally recognised ‘Mastitis Control Plan,’ and is developing our Parlour Audit services.

Tash Kirby, veterinary surgeon at Scope Farm Vets

    Showing cattle from a young age meant it was almost inevitable that Tash would become a farm vet after gaining her degree from Liverpool in 2020. Having an interest in good breeding has given Tash a passion for seeing animals meet their genetic potential, and this has led her to become lead vet on both our Calf Health Club and our embryo transfer service.

LSeth Kennard, veterinary surgeon at Scope Farm Vets

  • BVetMed BSc (Hons) MRCVS

    Seth graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2019 and went straight into farm only practice. Seth’s enthusiasm for bringing farmers together to share ideas has led to him becoming chief co-ordinator for our farmer’s meetings. He has a special interest in sustainable farming practices and will be launching our Cow Signals course in 2027. Seth is also an AHDB Mobility Mentor.

    Whilst he works primarily as a veterinary technician and TB tester, Ben’s Bioveterinary degree from Harper Adams University has also given Ben an eye for data analysis, which he uses to identify growth rate and disease patterns for members of our Calf Health Club.

  • SQP Dip Vet Tech

    Helen’s years of experience in the job earnt her a place at Harper Adams University to help develop the UK’s first Veterinary Technician training course and gain her diploma. Helen is a qualified animal medicines advisor (SQP) and is an invaluable source of information on sheep parasitology. Together with Harry she also runs our Flock 360 club.

  • Aimée is a qualified TB tester, and provides a calming presence during tests. As well as this, Aimée mans the reception desk for us 2 days a week. A true Catterall local, when not at work she can be found walking her 3 whippets or frequenting the restaurant at Auction Eats.

  • Fran is our accounts manager. She keeps things running smoothly behind the scenes, and is usually accompanied behind the reception desk by Barney, the large black Labrador.

  • Jo is our practice manager. She oversees day to day operations and co-ordinates the vets. Ably assisted by Inka, the small black labrador, she’s our first port of call for any and all problems, and is often surrounded by a queue of vets seeking her assistance.

    Liv is a qualified vet nurse working full time at Lanes Vets in Garstang. Somehow she still finds time to man reception for us on Saturdays, secretary for Winmarleigh YFC, show pedigree dairy calves and keep her own flock of commercial sheep.
