Our Services
At Scope Farm Vets we provide professional, reliable emergency cover whenever you need us, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We’re totally independent, meaning our only motivation is providing a great service to our farmers. No sales targets, no commission, no nonsense; and if a problem does arise you can speak with one of the owners face to face.
Our close-knit team work together, always ensuring we match the right expertise to the job, and providing the manpower needed to keep your farm running smoothly.
Whether you need a reliable pair of hands for routine jobs, or an expert in their field to deep dive into herd level problems, we’re here for you.
Our Services
As well as providing a comprehensive veterinary service, we run meetings and training courses throughout the year to equip you and your staff with the latest research updates and training.
Dairy
The lynch pin of our dairy services are routine fertility visits. Whether these are weekly, fortnightly or monthly, the regular contact with your routine vet positions us to work through herd health problems with you before they impact the farm. Our first and second vet system means there is always someone on hand who knows your farm, and who can support you through Farm Assurance or Milk Buyer inspections. Our vet techs are a crucial part of the team, and will ensure the farm is audit-ready by performing calf husbandry tasks and required health scoring for the dairy herd.
We use the latest software to help progressive dairy herds gain insights from their milk recording data and farm management software. This helps us identify opportunities for cost reduction, and see which areas of the farm to target for maximum return on investment. Where appropriate we engage your entire team in our reports, ensuring everyone on farm is pulling in the same direction when any changes are implemented.
Our vets have experience with both year round and block calving herds. Spring block calving herds benefit from working with vets who understand their system and can undertake large jobs rapidly; including knock down disbudding, metri-checking, CIDR application, pregnancy scanning (with ultrasound introducer), and whole herd dry off.
Beef
Whether you’re looking to tighten the calving block in your suckler herd, or improve the health of your store calves, we’re here to help.
We offer fertility solutions to ensure cows calve at the right time with minimal problems; including bull fertility testing, pelvic area measuring, estrus synchronisation, disease testing, and more. We encourage discussion so we can understand your farm and provide the right services for you.
We work with calf rearers to optimise health in purchased cattle, providing same day BVD testing, thoracic ultrasound to detect subclinical pneumonia, fast acting vaccinations, and strategic coccidia treatments.
Sheep
We provide a modern, proactive veterinary service for our sheep farmers. As well as treating individual sheep, we’ll help your flock excel by pinpointing performance limiting factors.
Excellent parasite management is key in sheep farming; we provide faecal egg count results within 1 working day, and expert advice from our vets or SQP. This pairs well with our disease surveillance services, which include both blood testing for iceberg diseases and cost-effective in-house postmortems when required.
Our Flock360 club provides the opportunity to meet and keep up to date, whilst spreading veterinary costs throughout the year.
